Boxing course

Purpose of the experience is to get back to boxing after quarantine, find motivation, develop and find my next step. Timeline is from August to October. Materials needed include appropriate clothing and boxing glove. All facilities and needed materials are covered by Lahden Kamppailulajikeskus, and basic boxing skills are needed beforehand. If there are no previous skills, attending to a beginner boxing course is strongly advised, which I have already taken. Risk assessment concerning fighting activities are practicing carefully under professional supervision and in case of an injury, contacting a doctor. Taking care of nutrition and knowing own limits is crucial. Ethical considerations include not using the skills learned in an illegal way and an agreement must be signed before attending any fighting course.
Action happens for 1 hour, twice a week. Practices include a warm-up, stretching, boxing combos and a cool-down. All actions vary each time.
I was really excited to get back to boxing, as it is something I enjoy doing. A fair amount of development can be seen after these few months. Basics were under control, but power, speed and accuracy increased while training. I accomplished a lot and feel glad and proud. My next step is kickboxing, which I'll be officially starting next year.
